DO NOT USE DIY GARAGE FLOOR KITS!
You have probably seen inexpensive garage floor epoxy kits from places like Home Depot, Lowe’s, and even paint specialty stores. Most of these kits use a water or solvent-based “epoxy” paint that paints directly onto the floor. These coatings fail very quickly.
DIY garage floor kits are most susceptible to “hot tire lift”. This is when a car’s hot tires can peel the paint right off the concrete. Even with proper prep, it is best not to park a car on these coatings.
These garage floor “epoxy” coatings rarely lasts more than a few years. They stain much easier, can be damaged by spilled chemicals, and experience UV fading. For this reason, SurePro Painting doesn’t warranty or even use water or solvent-based garage floor epoxy kits.
